Finding us

Lương Hữu Khánh is a narrow street running between Nguyễn Trãi and Bùi Thị Xuân. Our shopfront is sandstone with a brass wave and the SEREN name — you will see "Head Spa · Nails · Lashes" under it. If you reach the corner you have gone too far.

Arriving by Grab

Set the destination to 10E Lương Hữu Khánh. Drivers know the street. Motorbikes can pull up directly outside; cars will usually stop at the top of the road.

The street

Lương Hữu Khánh sits in the pocket of Bến Thành ward between Nguyễn Trãi and Bùi Thị Xuân — close enough to the market and Bùi Viện to walk, far enough that you can hear yourself think. It is a residential lane rather than a tourist strip, which is exactly why it is quiet.

Number 10E is a sandstone shopfront with a brass wave above the door and "Head Spa · Nails · Lashes" on the sign. There is greenery either side of the entrance. If you hit a corner, you have gone past us.

By Grab, and what it should cost

Grab is the simplest way to reach us and the one we would recommend to most visitors. Set the destination to 10E Lương Hữu Khánh. If the driver looks uncertain, show them the address written out: 10E Lương Hữu Khánh, Phường Bến Thành.

From Bến Thành Market a GrabBike is usually the smallest fare on the app and takes about five minutes; a GrabCar costs a little more and can take longer in traffic, because the one-way system around the roundabout sends cars the long way round. From the airport, expect 25 to 40 minutes by car depending on the hour.

Motorbikes can pull up directly outside the door. Cars usually stop at the top of the lane, which leaves you a thirty-second walk.

If you are staying in the backpacker quarter

Most of the hotels and hostels around Bùi Viện, Phạm Ngũ Lão and Đề Thám are within a ten to fifteen minute walk. Come up toward Nguyễn Trãi and turn into Lương Hữu Khánh — you are almost at the door. This is the shortest approach and the one most of our English-speaking guests use.

It is also worth knowing which direction you are walking in. Bùi Viện at ten at night is loud in a way that is fun for about an hour. Lương Hữu Khánh, ten minutes away, is a residential lane. That contrast is the whole reason we are on this street.

Crossing the road here

If this is your first time in Saigon: walk at a steady, predictable pace and the traffic will move around you. Do not stop suddenly in the middle, and do not run. Drivers here are reading your speed and steering around it, which only works if your speed stays the same. The crossings near the roundabout look alarming and are perfectly manageable once you know that.

Parking

Motorbikes park directly outside the shop and it is free. If you are driving, the lane is narrow — better to park on Nguyễn Trãi or Bùi Thị Xuân and walk the last minute.

What else is nearby

Từ Dũ Hospital is a few minutes away on the same street, which is why we see a lot of family members filling an afternoon while they wait, and a lot of expectant mothers after appointments. The Bùi Viện food streets are ten minutes in one direction; the market and the museum are twenty in the others. It is a good part of the city to be on foot in, provided you are not trying to reach Nguyễn Huệ that way.

Walking from Bến Thành Market

Leave the market on the Phạm Ngũ Lão side, head west, and turn into Lương Hữu Khánh. About twenty minutes at an unhurried pace, or five by Grab. The crossings around the roundabout are busy — walk steadily and traffic will move around you, which is the local convention and works better than stopping.

Walking from Bùi Viện

About ten minutes. Come up from the walking street toward Nguyễn Trãi and you are almost at the door. This is the shortest route for anyone staying in the backpacker quarter, and it is why we are a reasonable stop before a late flight or after a long day.
